We feel that attitude and working culture within our company is just as important as training and accreditation to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently. To that end we promote an atmosphere where any member of staff feels they can question processes, techniques and methods being employed at any time to any member of the company. Each day or task will start with a discussion lead by the team leader of the work at hand, the method statements and risk assessments in place and work will not start until the entire team is fully briefed and aware of the risks and requirements.
As a company Chris Day Tree Services are committed to ensuring our staff are qualified for the tasks they are asked to undertake through the relevant training bodies. Our staff as a minimum will hold basic NPTC units for chainsaw use, basic felling, aerial rescue and woodchipper use. All our staff hold CSCS cards and hold first aid training to EFAW+F as mandated for all forestry commission sites and other national organisations.
We encourage our staff to take on additional practical training to further their own career and also to consider enrolling in training for and working towards ISA accreditation. After all to be best placed to advise on how to look after a client’s trees we must understand their trees, their health and what their care entails.
As a company we hold CHAS accreditation something we hope shows our commitment to health and safety for both our staff, our clients and the general public. We feel it is important for our processes and provisions regards health and safety to be independently audited. If as a potential client you require your contractors to hold further accreditation or training for your own compliance needs please get in touch we are more than happy to work with you in this regard.
